What's In Your Hand?

Good Morning! Had not had coffee in two days and now I have a bad headache probably from not drinking coffee. Anyways, I went to make some coffee and a friend of ours gave us some coffee from Israel and I made it. It tasted so good this morning! Coffee from Israel wow what a privilege because Israel is so far and yet the coffee is here in our cabinet.

I am very grateful for the friends that The Lord has put in our lives. Many are from different walks and cultures however, we are friends. I was at a friends house yesterday and they had the most amazing view in there back yard that it looked like we were in the mountains; they even have a special sitting area to sit and drink some coffee and just talk with God enjoying such a view. But that was their view and I have another that I can sit in mine and watch the birds play in our back pond and watch the ducks splatter and play. My parents, they have a spot where you look out and see a fresh blanket of snow on the ground and watch the reddest of cardinals play and fly back and forth with the blue jays. I have another friend that at night time you can see all the stars in the sky and hear the helicopter doing night training; it's a light show of a southern aurora as we sip on an evening cup of coffee there.

We all have our specials spots and I'm neither jealous nor envious of other peoples places. If anything, I love the invites to come over for a cup of coffee and talk about the Lords goodness while we all enjoy the view. That's what brings us all together. Talking about the goodness in our lives and encouraging one another to be better than we were yesterday over a cup of coffee in a nice setting.

You see, for me it's not what we have but what we are doing with what we have. The Lord told Moses just before he went to Egypt to set the people free this,

"And the Lord said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.~Exodus 4:2

So He asks us the same thing, "What do we have in our hands that God can do marvelous things to glorify His name... It may be in our hands but are we willing to give to God and have Him use it? Whether it's a big thing or a small thing, in the hands of an almighty God, He can do anything with it.

There's a commercial that says "What's in your wallet" and I take that to a more purposeful spiritual sense and ask "What's in your Hand that God can use?" The Lord didn't take that rod away from Moses it was always his. However, Moses always used it that God could be glorified at what he held in his hand. Even if it's just coffee or a great space to sit in to drink coffee, may we use it to glorify the Lord. After all, in him all things were created and it's the Fathers good pleasure to give us the Kingdom. "What's in your Hand....."
