Let's Try it Out
Notes from: Let's Try it Out
The trying of Your Faith is the trying of your flesh to be shifted and transformed into the things of the spirit. For God is a Spirit and those that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.
The Problem in Self: ~Romans 7:18-25 (The Flesh Vs The Spirit)
For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
2. The Problem in Others: ~Luke 17:1-5 (Offending and Forgiving)
Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!
It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.
Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. 4 And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him. 5 And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.
3. The Strategy: ~James 1:2-8 (Count Joy, Work Patience, Ask in Faith stand Firm)
My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
Knowing this, that The trying of “Your Faith” worketh patience.
But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
In ministry and serving the Lord, you will always have offenses, the critic and the repentant. Depending on the condition of the heart, you'll either be a critic or the repentant. Even Jesus when He spoke the word in a parable there were critics. The Pharisees were always offended by Jesus, they were the ones who knew the law but did not apply it to there heart sincerely. If He had critics so will we. Continue speaking the Word anyways it will not return void and continue in the Faith being tried yet True. What the Lord is wanting us to do is exchange the things of flesh to spirit things. Just as Jesus crucified the flesh to be resurrected in the spirit so must we die daily in the desires of the flesh to worship God in the spirit. Resist the devil and he will flee. Resist the things of the fleshly nature.
“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.”~ John 4:23
He is looking for a Bride who is making herself ready and when He returns He will pick up His bride. There is more to Christianity then Salvation, we must grow up in maturity to be His bride. The trying of our faith will teach us spiritual education and moral development to be His bride. However, some will only be satisfied with the minimum in salvation while others will dive in deep to the fullness of it. Either way, depending on how much of Christ we want, we will be tried and tested.
4. The Firm Foundation ~1 Corinthians 3:11-16 ( Things of the Flesh Vs Things of the Spirit)
For no man can lay another foundation than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
Now if any man build upon this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble,
every man’s work shall be made manifest; for the Day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire, and the fire shall test every man’s work of what sort it is.
If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereon, he shall receive a reward.
If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss; but he himself shall be saved, yet so as fire.
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
The greatness or fullness of our God contained in the heart of man.
But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?~1 Kings 8:27
That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, ~Ephesians 3:17
And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.~Ephesians 3:19
The privileged to us is that an Almighty God gives us an opportunity to carry Him and all of heaven in our hearts daily right into eternity if we choose. All we need to do is ask Him to come into our heart and commune with us. No other creature has that privileged, none.
“Behold the Kingdom of heaven is at hand”.~Matthew 10:7.
Because of the works of the cross as the nail drove into His palms, He gave us an opportunity to place Him in our heart. Behold God is great and we don't know how truly great He really is. He fits all of Himself and heaven in our heart. By His choosing, God's Love held Jesus on the cross for a moment; our hearts now can contain Him in our lifetime by our choosing. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. Stand Firm during the trying of your faith so that the flesh decreases in you and He increases in the spirit, until we become the bride of Christ.
