The Cost of Want

I had this thought just rush into my mind, "It Cost Something."

Cost in definition is a require the payment of (a specified sum) before it can be acquired or done. To each cost there is a sum added to something and a subtraction to another. To what transactions are taking place spiritually, is between you and the Lord. Some transaction will be counterfeit and others genuine. Cost can be anything not necessarily money. In fact, money is a small representation of the actual.

Who doesn't like free things, everyone does. But after awhile when you're desperate for something more than free, even free is an agony that deserve a payment of something for Want. King David wanted peace. His transgressions were before His Lord and he wanted peace in his heart.

And king David said to Ornan, Nay; but I will verily buy it for the full price: for I will not take that which is thine for the Lord, nor offer burnt offerings without Cost. 1 Chronicles 21:24

And the king said unto Araunah, Nay; but I will surely buy it of thee at a price: neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the Lord my God of that which doth Cost me nothing. So David bought the threshingfloor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver. 2 Samuel 24:24

You appreciate it more when it cost you something, you do not take it for granted the price that is paid for wanting peace or even a blessing. It cost Jacob something when he told the angel that he would not let him go until he blessed him. It cost him a limp the rest of his life. But he received the blessing.

To each cost there is a sum added to something and a subtraction to another.

For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? Luke 14:28.

In giving to the Lord, may it cost me something so I do not take it for granted. Neither will I offer unto the Lord my God of that which doth cost me nothing.

...Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Matthew 16:26

Our everyday doings are our eternal transaction from the here to eternity. We are paying a price at cost however, who is the payment going to; who will receive the profit?

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it, and whosoever will lose his life for My sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul? Matthew 16:25-26

At Calvary Jesus paid the price for all the souls in the world and all generations so that we can once again be joined in fellowship with the Creator of all. It was a price He paid of His life. He stepped out of eternity into time. I see time as a fast merry-go-round. And He took on the form of flesh in exchange for His glory from heaven. He joined us in this cycle of a merry-go-round of time to make an eternal transaction. He counted the cost.

In giving to the Lord, may it cost something so I do not take it for granted. Neither will I offer unto the Lord my God of that which doth cost me nothing. Remembering that when you're desperate for something, even free is an agony that deserves a payment of something for Peace. Let it Cost me Something- my living here given to the Lord to use that His name may be made known through me to find Life there in heaven, It's worth the cost. Blessed Be His Name!

And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much. And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.
And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, "Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living".~Mark 12:41-44

The poor widow wanted it to cost her also and she gave all she had even though it was small to some, but to Jesus and her it was all she had. Her Want was greater than her need. She needed many things but she Wanted God. May we Want God in that same manner. We all need Him, but do we Want Him...count the cost whatever the cost may be because everyone has a different payment because the wanting if different. However the Passion is what God sees in our heart as we give it.
