It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;
As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.
Unity is a Blessing and life, this is why it's very important to stay in Unity.
Discord is also a force but a negative one. The origin of discord was Lucifer wanting to be something big, Pride is in him. By himself, he wanted no part of the fellowship and unity of God. The root word for discord is-a contest or quarrel, continues strife.
Proverbs 6:12-15
A naughty person, a wicked man, walketh with a froward mouth.
He winketh with his eyes, he speaketh with his feet, he teacheth with his fingers;
Frowardness is in his heart, he deviseth mischief continually; he soweth discord.
Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall he be broken without remedy.
Proverbs 6:16-19
These six (6) things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven(7) are an abomination unto Him:
1. A proud look,
2. A lying tongue, and
3. Hands that shed innocent blood,
4. An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations,
5. Feet that be swift in running to mischief,
6. A false witness that speaketh lies, and
7. He that soweth discord among brethren.
Lucifer was the prime example of these underlined 7 abominations as told in Isaiah 14:12-14. How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
In revelation 12:4 He took a third part of heaven or the stars, meaning angels, by speaking lies about the Lord.
And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
Jude 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
The angels that chose to listen to Lucifer left their post or heaven in discord. Eve also listened to the serpent and broke the Unity and fellowship from God to mankind and then the curse came. Unity brings the blessings and life, Discord brought the curse.
We must be very careful that we are not operating in that spirit of pride that causes discord. We will find suddenly that the blessings will be gone and so will the presence of the Lord. The fellowship is lost...
The intentions of the heart will be reviled eventually whether it is good in humility or bad in pride. There are 6 things God hates and to be carnally minded is enmity with God. Walk in Love choose humility over pride to carry the blessings on you to let them go through you that His name be lifted up to draw all to Him. Carry His character and nature.
And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. Acts 2:1,2
Resist the pride and discord and Live out the blessing by staying in humility and Unity with one another and the Lords presence will stay near.
