Overcome, Go Through
Have you ever just stayed in bed and pondered,"Why even get up to face the day?" How about a bit fearful of getting up, knowing it was going to be a rough one? I have been there to. So a word was put in my spirit of Overcome, get through. What does overcome mean? Jesus said to be of good cheer because He overcame the world. So I began to read His word and study it as to what it means to overcome.
In John 16:33 Jesus says this,
We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. So then death worketh in us, but life in you.
Overcome means to prevail and get the victory in the Strong's Concordance the original Greek root word meaning.
In John 16:33 Jesus says this,
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
Jesus said that we shall, meaning it will happen throughout our life time we shall have tribulation. But in Him we might have peace.
Tribulation means, a pressing, pressing together, pressure, oppression, affliction, distress and straits.
Jesus says that he spoke these things that we may have Peace about it in Him and to be of good cheer it can be overcome, tribulation that is; and this is how to overcome in 1John 5:4-6.
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.
And this is the "Confidence" that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. 1 John 5:14,15
There is someone greater than our problems and His desire for us is to continue ovecoming every obstacle in our way by prevailing and having the victory. Jesus is on our side and if He overcame, we can to.
And this is the "Confidence" that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. 1 John 5:14,15
His word is encouraging. He knows what it is to be human and have tribulation. He tells us to have peace and be of good cheer that although it's a rough road, we can still get through it. He that hath the Son, has Life.
So, if you're face to face with a mountain or giant, keep a mind set that victory is beyond that. There is peace and victory that Jesus will help you through; eat of His Word and speak the Word; faith will move you over it.
2 Corinthians 4:8-12
We shall have tribulation but be of good cheer and have peace knowing, He's near to us because He loves us so much. We are His Beloved.
Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. Revelation 3:12
He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. Revelation 21:7
He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. Revelation 21:7
Lord Jesus give us this strength to press on through to get closer and closer to you. Help me overcome this mountain, this giant, this thing in front of me, for there is where you get the glory! May we testify of Your Almightiness in Jesus name we pray, Amen. Let it be done Lord according to your word, for it is Truth.
